More yard work: filling holes from the old, old, old scrubs and from the cedar trees on the north east corner of the house (counting the growth rings they were over 80 years old), cutting down more "junk" trees, and a dead apricot tree (in the play area)..followed by weeding and weeding and weeding! This is just part of the outside work we are planning.
We are hoping to post a weekly update. Keep checking back! We will include pictures of the inside and the yard.
Have a great weekend! We will decorate graves on Sunday. Saturday and Monday will probably be spent at Grandma's.
Love,
Shelley
It's back...with no quakies! |
Aunt Shelley,
ReplyDeleteFound your very remarkable blog! It's incredible what you are doing to preserve history. It's more than history, it's family really. It's bringing back what were special family memories. Life is all about those!
You and Mark do good work!!! Amazing progress. You are both very good at restoration work. I don't blame you for wanting to live in it when you are done.
There is something special about being at Grandma's house right?
Love to you all!
Diane and Darin
Shelly, This is Karen (Jones) Gilliland. I had no idea you were doing this! My mom just sent me your blog---HOW EXCITING! I cried when I heard Grandma's house was being sold, after she died. I protested, but was asked "so are YOU going to buy it?" Being in Phoenix, and just starting our family, it was impossible. I was relieved that someone who loves old homes bought it. That was the last I heard about it. Seeing how run down it has become breaks my heart, but seeing what you have already accomplished is an answer to long time prayers. Thank you for what you are doing. Love Karen
